In 1959 pulp book publisher, Atomic Rocket Books, released “Red Sisters”. A story of identical twins (but for the color of their hair: one brunette, one white) and their rivalries with one another and the communist state they lived in. Unlike other ‘red scare’ propaganda of the time, the story was unique as the heroines themselves were Russian, and constantly challenged the communist status quo and extolled a non-conformist philosophy.
