About the Design

MAGAZINES THAT NEVER WERE!

The popular ‘Horrifying Monster T-Shirts’ featured in the mail-order ads of ‘Fright’ magazine. The controversial designs were ended in the mid 1960s, culminating in a public shirt burning which irreparably damaged a So-Cal church. The site was eventually made into a race track, where the same shirts made a brief revival being enthusiastically worn by the local drivers.
